Week 1 18/06/2020: Book Club For Kids
Week 1 of book club is here! Here is your weekly book club coming to you from charismorton.co.uk! This is a kids only book club. So let’s get started. If you like book podcasts Bex’s Book Club is great. She interviews famous authors and new ones too! You can find it on Spotify, on the Fun Kids app or wherever you get your podcasts from. Also a magazine podcast is The Week Junior Show it’s on Spotify and also wherever you get your podcasts from. It has the week’s big debate, the news from around the world and more! Bex from her book club hosts it and has three staff from the magazine each week. I like it so much, I have a magazine subscription and I follow them on PopJam.
This week we have a book review and two book suggestions.
The book review is ‘ The Hiding Place’. ‘ The Hiding Place’ is a book about Corrie ten Boom, a Jew, and she and her family hide Jews in danger of the German police, the Gestapo. After getting caught, her family go to a concentration camp and they pray to be released . My favourite part is when she gets released. In my words it is AMAZING, SUPER and AWESOME. She has also written ‘My Father’s House’ and ‘Tramp for the Lord’. I would recommend this book to people who like war books or Christian books. I feel sad for those Jews that died during WW2 and happy that some got released. I like how it starts because it tells a bit more about her and her family. It is a very good book.
Book suggestions:
- Grandpa’s Great Escape By David Walliams
- The Malory Towers Series By Enid Blyton
I hope you liked this week’s book club. Come back next week for a new book review and two book suggestions.
